Monday reflection by Xu Yidong

To be honest, I was not looking forward to going to JC because I was crazy preparing my mid-term test and I am not very comfortable about getting into a completely new place that I do not know well. However, I am sure that this experience is going to be an unforgettable one and I may benefit a lot from it if I do things wisely there

I used to be extremely interested in the how the education system in Singapore looks likes. There are so many differences between the education system in Singapore as well as that in China and I am eager to find them out. The high school education in China is 3+3 while in Singapore that is 4+2. They both have a very important test which has the priority in determining which University students are attending. However, Singaporean students also have CCA and many projects that involve team cooperation, which have nothing to do with the Chinese high school students.

Now I have a very precious chance to get some firsthand information about the education system in secondary school, and know what our peers do and study during their school time. Apart from that, I am happy that I will be assigned a buddy who is going to accompany me during my junior college journey in the next few days, because then I can integrate into the circumstance there better and get an opportunity to know more about a Singaporean young man.

I hope that I can enjoy it and remember to keep a sharp eye on things happening there.
