Monday Reflection Liu Hanyang

Today is my first day coming to VJC to join JXP program. I am a little excited about this activity. It is my first time to realize the education system of Singapore, and have close connected with local students. My buddy’s name is Douglas. He is an interesting local boy. He is 17 years old in JC1. I used to think it might be a little hard for me to talk with local students, because we may not have common topic, but I find it is easy to communicate with my buddy. However, because he speaks Singlish, it seems a little hard for me to understand what he is saying, and I may ask him to speak for another time to make me hear clearly. Also, I find the education system is different from Chinese one. There is not many lessons a day in JC, but in China, there would be at least 8 lessons a day and have lots of homework. In Singapore, there are more activities like CCA in school and students are trained to cooperation in classes. They are friendly and warm heart, and they are like a big family. What’s more, in JC, there will be many lectures, and students from different classes can meet each other, but in China, students can only have lessons with fixed classmates. Chinese high school students are much busier than JC students.
