My VJC Experience(Liang Yuan)

Reflection of Liang Yuan
Monday:
Today is my first day to victoria junior college. I woke up at 5:20 in the morning, which is quite earlier than usual. When I woke up, the sky was still dark. I was very tired. At about 7:00, we arrived at victoria junior college. Then we were asked to go to LT1 to meet our buddies. After a brief introduction, all of us met our own buddies. My buddy is a handsome tall guy named Ibrahim. Before I met my buddy, I used to wish that I can have a buddy who can speak Chinese due to I cannot express myself well by English sometimes. Unfortunately, Ibrahim cannot speak any Chinese except for “Gong Xi Fa Cai”. What is more, he did not learn Chinese in junior college and he learns Malay instead. Although I was a little upset, I thought that maybe I can learn a new language. However, my plan fell through soon, because he told me that his teacher taught Malay by Malay. After the meeting, I companied him to attend his classes. We played together until about 7:20 pm. And because I was not familiar with the traffic, I returned RVR at 8:00 and even became the latest one back to RVR. This day is quite a busy and tired day for me.

Tuesday:
Today, I got up as early as yesterday. Because of lack of rest and the busy life rhythm, I was exhausted. After reaching the JC, I began to sleep until my buddy called me. When I met him, I found that he had shaved himself. I found he was interesting without beard, so I touched his face to feel it. I found that he was surprised and a little angry because of my behavior. Then he told me that it was rude to touch Muslim’s face. I felt quite sorry about that and apologized immediately. In the afternoon, his fist Malay lesson came. Considering that I cannot understand Malay at all, he asked me whether I wanted attend Chinese lesson with his friend. I was always interested in the Chinese lesson in Singapore, so I went with his good friend finally. I used to think that Chinese lesson in JC is very easy. However, after attending a Chinese lesson, I was quite amazed because I found that some sentences formed by Singaporean students were very good and those sentences were what I could not think of even. I think I know more about Singapore today.

Wednesday:
We attended the first assembly in victoria JC today. In the assembly, all the students sung the national anthem, swore and listened to the speeches together in the gym. In addition, we were formally introduced to all of VJC students as well. During the assembly, all the students stand straight and sit quietly. I could actually felt the students’ strong sense of discipline. Then I had two physics lessons with my buddy. During the second physics lesson, the students were asked to solve the same questions and comment on some new inventions together. Students were divided in groups and had discussions with passion. They helped each other and pointed out others’ fault without shyness. I was quite amazed about the creativity and creativity of the Singaporean students. At the end of this school day, we had a geography lesson. The teacher was interesting, and the talk with Singaporean students is more interesting. We, SM2 scholars, pointed our hometown to Singaporean students, and they asked many interesting questions. For example, my home is far away from my senior high school, so my buddy asked that “Do you need to take a train to school every day?” I think it is because they were not familiar with the concept of dormitory. To summarize, today is a nice day.
Thursday:
I think now I can get into sleep immediately as soon as I lie on my bed. Although I was very tired today, I felt happy because something interesting happened. What impressed me the most today was the humor of JC teachers. In today’s English class, students were required to deliver a 10 minutes’ presentation. When I was listening to the presentation carefully, I suddenly heard a sound like ghost shouting! I was quite surprised and looked around. Then, I saw the English teacher shook his ringing phone and smiled “time is up!” The horrible sound was just used to remind students! In the afternoon, I went to physics class. In that class, teacher told students how to draw diagram. I will never forget what happened when the teacher forgot what to say during his speech. “When the best fit line is drawn, it is no longer a…it is no longer a… it is no longer a…”He had repeated “it is no longer a” for at least 7 times, but he still could not think of what he should say. We students began to laugh. Finally, he laughed as well and said “it is no longer a hahaha.” I must say that JC teachers are very interesting and humorous.

Friday:
Today is the last day in VJC. After one day’s class in JC, we did not go to buddy’s home immediately. Because we three scholars would not come to this JC again, we stayed in JC until 8:00 pm. We visited around VJC carefully and talked a lot with our buddies. They told us some cultures about Singapore as well as the ghost stories in VJC. In addition, we all introduced our entertainments in China and in Singapore. Due to the sky was dark, we had to leave VJC finally. We went to Zihui’s home, which was not far away from VJC. We taught Yiming to cycle there because Yiming was the only one who could not cycle among us. During Yiming’s learning time, I talked with my buddy Ibrahim beside. We were both amazed that we could become such good friend in just 5 days. He said that he did not want the end of JXP to be the end of our friendship; he wanted to keep in touch with me in the future. That was also what I want him to know. Thank JXP for give me such an opportunity to have so good a friend! By the way, Yiming could cycle in the end. I think this night is more meaningful for Yiming.
